What is biohacking?
There isn't one universally accepted definition of biohacking.
Broadly, it's about using science, technology, data and self-experimentation to better understand and influence aspects of your biology.
That might mean improving your sleep routine after noticing how much better you perform when you're well rested.
It might mean using a wearable to understand your recovery.
It could involve monitoring certain biomarkers or exploring emerging areas of research.
The approach is different, but the principle is the same:

And importantly, biohacking doesn't have to be complicated.
Your first bio-hack is probably already in your life
Before we get into peptides, biomarkers and the latest piece of wearable technology, there's a more important conversation to have.
Sleep.
Movement.
Nutrition.
Recovery.
Stress.
These are the foundations of human health and they're often the things we overlook while searching for the next breakthrough.

So, what does good biohacking look like?
It's probably simpler than Instagram makes it appear.
Start with the fundamentals.
Build a strong foundation of sleep, movement, nutrition and recovery.
Measure what matters.
Use data when it can genuinely improve your understanding.
Experiment intelligently.
Change one variable where possible and pay attention to the response.
Look at the evidence.
Understand the difference between promising research and proven outcomes.
Make it personal.
Your biology isn't identical to anyone else's.
And what works for one person won't necessarily work for another.
The future isn't about doing more
The next generation of health optimisation won't necessarily be about having more gadgets, more supplements or more protocols.
It will be about better information.
Better measurement.
Better research.
Better understanding of individual biology.
And, ultimately, better decisions.
We're already seeing this shift across areas such as personalised health, metabolic research, longevity and human performance.
The exciting question isn't:
“What's the next biohack?”
It's:
“What are we going to understand about ourselves next?”
That's where things get interesting.
Biohacking isn't about becoming a machine.
It's about understanding the human one you already have.
