About Kisspeptin
Kisspeptin is a naturally occurring peptide encoded by the KISS1 gene and a key regulator of reproductive hormone signalling. In preclinical and laboratory studies it has been extensively investigated for its interaction with kisspeptin receptors (KISS1R), gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion and downstream endocrine pathways.
Handling & storage
Supplied as a lyophilised powder to maintain long-term stability. In laboratory settings it may be reconstituted using bacteriostatic water or another suitable solvent in accordance with established research protocols. Gently swirl to dissolve; avoid vigorous shaking.
Store unopened vials in a sealed container in a cool, dark and dry environment, protected from light and moisture.
After reconstitution, store at 2–8°C. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at −20°C, avoiding repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
Research areas of interest
Preclinical and laboratory investigations have explored Kisspeptin in relation to:
- Reproductive endocrine research: the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis and reproductive hormone signalling.
- GnRH & gonadotropin signalling: GnRH stimulation and downstream LH and FSH signalling.
- Fertility research models: reproductive physiology, fertility regulation and pubertal development pathways.
- Neuroendocrine function: hypothalamic signalling and endocrine coordination.
- Hormonal regulation: reproductive hormone secretion and endocrine feedback pathways.
