AHK-Cu is a synthetic copper-binding tripeptide consisting of L-alanine, L-histidine and L-lysine complexed with copper (Cu²⁺). It has attracted particular interest in preclinical research investigating hair follicle biology, dermal papilla cell activity, skin regeneration and cellular signalling.
Supplied by Elevr as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) research peptide, AHK-Cu is designed to support stability and integrity during storage and laboratory handling. The 50mg format provides a convenient quantity for controlled laboratory research applications.
Elevr supplies AHK-Cu strictly for laboratory research purposes only.
What is AHK-Cu?
AHK-Cu is a copper-complexed tripeptide related to the wider family of copper peptides. Research has examined its interaction with dermal papilla cells, which play an important role in hair follicle development and growth.
In an ex-vivo human hair follicle study, AHK-Cu was investigated for its effects on follicle elongation and dermal papilla cell proliferation, making it an area of interest in hair and dermatological research.
AHK-Cu should not be confused with GHK-Cu. Although both are copper-binding tripeptides, AHK-Cu contains alanine as its first amino acid, whereas GHK-Cu contains glycine.
Usage & Reconstitution
AHK-Cu is supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder to support stability during storage.
For laboratory research, the material may be reconstituted using an appropriate laboratory-grade solvent in accordance with the requirements of the relevant research protocol. Allow the vial and solvent to reach the appropriate laboratory temperature before preparation and gently swirl until dissolved.
Avoid vigorous agitation and unnecessary exposure to heat or light.
Reconstitution volumes and concentrations should be determined by the laboratory’s own validated research protocol.
Storage Information
Unopened:
Store the lyophilised peptide in a cool, dry and dark environment, protected from direct light, moisture and excessive heat. Refrigerated storage at 2–8°C may be appropriate for maintaining peptide stability.
After reconstitution:
Store the prepared research solution at 2–8°C and protect it from light. For extended laboratory storage, aliquoting and freezing at −20°C may be appropriate where supported by the relevant stability protocol.
Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
For the most accurate storage requirements, always follow the batch-specific documentation and manufacturer’s recommendations supplied with the product.
Research Benefits
Hair Follicle Research
AHK-Cu has been investigated specifically in human hair follicle research, with laboratory studies examining its effect on follicle elongation and dermal papilla cell activity.
Dermal Papilla Cell Studies
Research has explored AHK-Cu’s effects on dermal papilla cells, including cellular proliferation and markers associated with cell survival.
Dermatological Research
As a copper-binding peptide, AHK-Cu is of interest in research surrounding skin biology, cellular signalling and tissue-remodelling processes.
Cellular Regeneration Research
Copper peptide research has investigated pathways associated with fibroblast activity, collagen-related processes and cellular repair. These findings provide broader context for investigating copper-peptide biology in laboratory models.
Hair & Skin Biology
AHK-Cu provides researchers with a specific copper-peptide model for investigating interactions between peptide signalling, dermal papilla cells and hair follicle biology.
Copper-Peptide Research
The compound can be used as a research subject when investigating the biological properties and signalling behaviour of copper-complexed peptides.
Quality & Research Use
Elevr AHK-Cu is supplied as a research-grade laboratory material. Batch-specific analytical documentation should be used to verify the identity, purity and quality specifications of the individual product.
This product is supplied strictly for laboratory research purposes only.
